Travel to Viña del Mar
Within Viña del Mar and Valparaiso, the safest and easiest option is to use Uber (or taxis from official stands).
SCL airport offers free Wi-Fi.
From the airport
▸ Taxi — Can be booked at the official counters right after customs. Direct, door-to-door, but expensive, around US$150. Travel time 1.5–2 h depending on traffic.
▸ Shared transfer (van) — Can be booked at the counters right after customs. Usually door-to-door; you may wait until the van
fills. Around US$50 per person.
▸ Bus (budget route):
- Airport → Pajaritos (Bus terminal): Take the airport shuttle bus (T2 first level by Door 4; also available in T1). US$5.
- Pajaritos → Viña del Mar: Once in Pajaritos bus terminal, we recommend to take a Turbus (every 15 minutes, US$8–12). Travel time 80–120 minutes. Buy tickets at Turbus counters. Total time 2–3 h depending on traffic.
Once you arrive to the Viña del Mar bus terminal, we recommend to take an Uber to your hotel or the conference venue (US$4–5 within Viña).
Note if you take the buses: There are no direct intercity buses from SCL to Viña/Valparaíso. You must first go to Pajaritos and connect there.
From santiago city
▸ Metro + Bus — Take Metro Line 1 to “Pajaritos” station. Buy your ticket to Viña del Mar at the Turbus counter (buses every
15 min, US$8–12).
From the destination bus terminal, take an Uber (US$4–5 within Viña).
